Dreaming of High Intensity Interval Training…

This morning I woke from a dream of doing HIIT on the treadmill. I wonder if my legs were twitching the way my dog’s does when he dreams… Anyway, I took it as a sign to get up and hit the gym – this has been a rest week for me to recuperate from the move. I think there was a problem with the treadmill belt because things felt a little strange – like the belt was slipping and it was tripping me up a bit. I did 30:60 intervals at 10 mph and 4 mph for 20 minutes. It was not one of my better workouts and I struggled through the entire 20 minutes feeling like my heart was about to explode.

Monday is a new push for a full twelve-week “Personal Best Challenge” – with no missed workouts, no binges, no alcohol, and 2 cheat meals per week. Now that the move is behind me, I feel I can dedicate myself completely. I may be visiting family in Austin for a few days in late May/early June, but nothings set in stone. I’m sure I’ll be able to keep up with workouts and healthy eating while I’m there. Tomorrow may include some cardio, but the rest of the weekend will be dedicated to organizing my closets, grocery shopping for the week, and some food prep.

I'm half tempted to give the Hell diet a try to kick start my challenge, but haven't decided yet.

Hah! What a great dream! I wish I could dream of something great like that...it sure would help me be less grumpy when I get up at 5am to do my HIIT. :)

Yeah, I woke up last night from a dream with a BIG NASTY spider...

I like that interval shake-up you described. I rarely do the old BFL HIIT anymore. I get to thinking about how hard it will be and freak myself out. I just start slow and after that magic 10-to-12 minute mark, when I'm finally warmed up, then I start kicking in the intervals and what-not.

Speaking of, I'm due for some of that action today ... been focusing more on the weights and less on the cardio lately ...

Funny, when I read the title, I immediately started thinking of sleeping doggy twitchy paws, too. :-)

When I start dreaming about excercise, will be the day I know I've gone too far! hehehe. Better have that treadmill checked out, but glad that your dream gave you motivation to get up and get it done. I've been considering the Hell Diet too, but probably not for a while.

Dreaming about exercise...hmmm. I can't say I have done that yet. I have to psyche myself into going for my runs. My body says...I really don't want to do it. My head tells my body....you don't have to run, just a nice easy walk for 20 mins. My body says...Ok, I can walk for 20 mins. Then once I get on the treadmill and start walking....usually after 5 mins or so I feel like running and off I go. Ya...I am a case :P

I find that hell kept me on track eating wise. I won't go on in your blog about it but will be posting my thoughts in my blog later :)

I love it! I would love to wake up like that... unfortunately I dream about work these days. :) As for the hell diet, I'm about ready to start that myself!
